Ronelle Rademeyer - Die twee Airbus A330-220-vliegtuie wat Namibië as deel van 'n peperduur kontrak by Castlelake Aviation gehuur het, is onderweg na Leipzig in Duitsland.
Mnr. Leon Jooste, minister van staatsondernemings (SOE), het bevestig die twee vliegtuie het vanoggend by die Hose Kutako Internasionale Lughawe opgestyg en is onderweg na Leipzig.
Hy sê die vliegtuie sal daar die nodige onderhoudswerk ondergaan sodat dit in presies die toestand waarin dit destyds in ontvangs geneem is, aan Castelake Aviation terugbesorg kan word. Die Namibiese regering, wat die waarborg van sowat N$2,5 miljard vir verhuring verskaf het, is kontraktueel daartoe verbind om dit in dieselfde toestand terug te besorg.
Die aanboordvermaakstelsel op die vliegtuie werk nie en sal onder meer herstel moet word, het Republikein vroeër berig.
