Boost for Christ’s Hope

Christ’s Hope International, a non-profit organisation established in Namibia in 2003, plays a vital role in addressing the challenges posed by multidimensional poverty affecting over 43% of the country's population.Sadly, 1 in 5 Namibian children faces stunted growth and acute malnutrition, highlighting the urgency of interventions to break the cycle of poverty.Operating in Okahandja, Christ's Hope impacts the lives of 290 children and 100 families. In light of this essential work, the Capricorn Foundation, recognising the significance of this mission, has renewed its partnership with Christ’s Hope, committing an additional N$300 000 to the initiative This support enables the organisation to provide essential resources such as school uniforms, stationery, meals, and scholarships to vulnerable children.Christ's Hope adopts a holistic approach, recognising each child's uniqueness. The organisation employs a set of comprehensive systems that encompass educational, physical, home, medical, spiritual, and emotional support. The aim is to guide children from grade 1 through secondary schooling, nurturing their development over a span of 10 to 12 years.Country Team Leader Hannelie Turner finds the journey with these children immensely rewarding, witnessing their growth from a young age to their teenage years.The Capricorn Foundation's commitment extends beyond financial support, aiming to address the holistic needs of vulnerable children and contribute to ending the poverty cycle. Christ’s Hope aspires to achieve specific outcomes for each beneficiary, including completing secondary education, learning biblical truths, principles, and values, receiving support in emotional and social development, maintaining good health and hygiene, and acquiring life skills for independence.Through collaborative efforts, these organisations strive to create meaningful lives and futures for Namibia's vulnerable children and their families.
