Beyond cruising speed
The Old Wheelers Club of Namibia (1986-2016) has cause for reflection and celebration, as it heralds the 13th “Day of the Old Wheeler”.
Satisfy your curiosity, witness it first-hand and simply enjoy yourself with family, friends and enthusiasts alike this Saturday from 11:00 until sunset.
Navigate your way to the new Old Wheelers Club, located at the end of Rugby Road in Suiderhof.
Namibia’s premier motor exposition offers diversity for all age groups. A jumping castle and mobile tuck-shop for children, a secure place under the sprawling Namibia Breweries tent, club members attending to your enquiries at the Information tent, club paraphernalia (shirts, caps and stickers et al.) for sale, apart from strains of modern and contemporary music provided by HitRadio Namibia.
Parking area security and ample ablution facilities are assured.
The activities start with the traditional “street procession” along Independence Avenue and culminates with the highlight of the day, the drawing of the winning raffle ticket for an Italian classic, the compact 1959 Fiat 1100. Approximately 100 raffle tickets have been set aside for sale on event day, apart from already being available at the clubhouse. Club membership forms will be available for discerning, adventurous and prospective members.
At the 2012 and 2014 events, the club offered bricks for sale to individuals and corporates. Today the results of that initiative can be seen in the new clubhouse. Phase 2 along similar lines, namely the “Car Museum” project, will be launched during the event.
The club acknowledges the many sponsors, too numerous to mention, for their unwavering support and camaraderie.
The Old Wheelers Club stands ready to offer the upgraded clubhouse facilities at competitive rates, including rented “veteran & vintage cars” for special functions.
Its affiliate members, the BMW Motorcycle Club and the Harley Owners Group Namibia (HOGS), are welcomed to their first “Day of the Old Wheeler 2016”.
