SMS pays off
NMH received more than 500 entries in its Rugby World Cup predict the score SMS competition.
The prize was a 165cm Diamond TV valued at N$8 000 sponsored by HiFi Corporation.
The winning prediction came from the opening match between host Japan and Russia.
Ralph Bougard from Rosh Pinah predicted a score of 30-6 in favour of the Brave Blossoms. The scoreboard read 30-10. Few other participants predicted the scores of winning teams correctly, but never came closer with the losing team's score even in the quarters, semis, 3rd/4th place play-off and the final. On Friday we handed over the prize to Ralph's brother-in-law in Windhoek, Richard de Klerk.
Ralph was born in Swakopmund and attended school in that coastal town, Tsumeb, Rehoboth and Alexander Bay. At school he played fullback, left wing, scrumhalf and guess – hooker. He has been working for Skorpion Zink for 16 years.
Ralph's highlight moment from RWC 2019 was that the new champs could not win the previous champions. Eina! He says about his winning prediction: “I took some time beforehand to sit still and visualise the result.” NMH thanks everyone for their participation.
