WHS wins friendly match against HTS
Sport has been stalled since Namibia confirmed its first two cases of Covid-19, but now some rugby matches have resumed and the rugby spirit is alive and well among players.

Starting off the season with a friendly match, the U/19 teams of the Windhoek High School (WHS) Kudus and Technical High School (HTS) Warthogs took to the field this past weekend at the HTS sports grounds.
During the first quarter of the match WHS led the game by seven points and by halftime the Kudus had a total of 12 points while the Warthogs had zero. After halftime the Warthogs gave the Kudus a tough time however, and the game ended with a score of 0-26 in favour of WHS.
Speaking to The Zone, WHS coach Ainsely Daniels said it was exciting to be back on the field.
“The boys were looking forward to the game and just having to play sports again,” he said.
Daniels said they hoped they would play a league but this has not happened.
“We have put rules and regulations in regard to Covid-19 and keep them fit during these challenging times,” he said.
He said they try to motivate the players to keep playing rugby.
HTS coach Handre Bezuidenhout said they focused more on the mental preparation of players.
“We only had three weeks to prepare for this match due to the adherence, thus we opted to focus more on the mental part than the physical part which was a bit of a challenge,” he said.
He added that due to the drastic changes the players went through in light of the current situation, HTS values the importance of equipping its learners mentally and emotionally.
Bezuidenhout further added that the players showed a lot of discipline with home exercise plans.
Winning captain Daniel Opperman said the game was tough and HTS keep them on their feet.
“We have worked on our strategy today and we need to build on it more,” he said.
