Uis Enduro ready to roar

THE third round of the Bank Windhoek Namibian national Enduro MX series will take place this Saturday around Uis. The event is co-sponsored by CRP, a company supplying earthmoving equipment. It is the first time the national series will be carried out at Uis and an interesting route has been set out by the organizers.

A big part of the route will be on the old mine roads with a few challenging hill climbs. National classes will complete five laps of the 30 km long course, while the support classes will have to cover four rounds.

?Bank Windhoek appreciates the hard work of the organizers. By taking Enduro races to different regions in Namibia, the local population is exposed to this sport code and the riders can test their skills in various surroundings and terrains. We wish the organisers and the riders all the best and an unforgettable race,? said Riaan van Rooyen, head of corporate Communication and Social Investment at Bank Windhoek.

?We thank Bank Windhoek and CRP for their generous support. The riders and their machines will be tested on the rough tracks. Saturday?s racing will start at 07:00 and refreshments will be on sale at the track during the day. The public is invited to attend this exciting event,? said Kai Hohmeier of the Namibia Enduro Club.

How to get there: From Windhoek, follow the B2 (Okahandja to Karibib road), turn right on the C36 and continue on this road for 67.4 km towards Omaruru. Then turn right onto the C33 for another 7.1 km and then turn left onto the C36 for 121 km and follow the signs to the Brandberg Rest Camp.
