Tutorific, a tutoring programme established at Swakopmund, hosted an award ceremony last week to honour their top-performing students.

Tutorific was founded in 2018 by Elvino Bezuidenhoudt. He started with a group consisting of 32 learners and over the years the tutoring programme has grown from strength to strength and now accommodates over 100 learners. The programme first started out with only mathematics and accounting.

Currently, five tutors are assisting learners in mathematics, accounting, biology, physical science and chemistry. Tutors include Elzeyn Nanuses, Elvino Bezuidenhoudt, Cody Brockerhoff, Zurine Jacobs, Armas Hangula and Dolores Rooi (supervisor).

“It's quite simple, in order to empower the youth you need to add value to what they already have. Be the match that light their candle because these kids don't realise that they have massive potential. It all comes down to attitude. It's all about you. We are only planting the seed, it's your own responsibility to keep watering it,”
