Purple Dot ondersteun stomapasiënte

Die afgelope Nedbank Desert Dash-fietsrykompetisie is suksesvol ingespan om met die hulp van die Purple Dot Project broodnodige bewusmaking vir alle stomapasiënte in Namibië aan te wakker.

Volgens sr. Laura Obes het alle Namibiërs wat met stomas leef, die reg op toegang tot gespesialiseerde sorg en die gepaste stomaprodukte. Tans is daar net twee gekwalifiseerde stomaverpleegsters in Namibië wat tot sowat 500 nuwe stomagevalle per jaar moet help.

Die doel van die Purple Dot Project is om bewusmaking te skep en geld in te samel vir die opleiding van stomaterapeute, asook die aankoop van gepaste stomaprodukte vir pasiënte wat hiervoor kwalifiseer. Finansiële bydraes in die verband kan gemaak word aan die Kankervereniging van Namibië met die verwysing Stomafonds. Die rekeningnommer by Bank Windhoek is 1026618701 en die takkode (Maerua) is 483-872.
