Pensioner busted at 238 km/h
Porsche-driving elderly woman says "I couldn't sleep".
A 79-year-old woman has been arrested for speeding in Belgium. According to authorities, she had been travelling at 238 km/h.
Her reason for speeding? Apparently she couldn't fall asleep. She reportedly reached that breakneck speed behind the wheel of a Porsche Boxster GTS.
Lack of sleep
Speaking to a judge, the elderly woman explained her reason for speeding: "I could not sleep, Mr. Judge, so I decided to drive a car," reports Gazet van Antwerp.
The Boxter GTS reaches 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds and has a top speed of 280 km/h - we're not sure how this would lull you to sleep but presumably once the adrenaline rush was gone the 79-year-old would be ready for bed.
Authorities report she was handed a fine of €4000 (the equivalent of N$60 000) and a three-month driving ban. - Wheels24
