Denver Kisting – 'n Volwasse man het Woensdag in die Katutura-staatshospitaal beswyk nadat hy die vorige dag vermoedelik aangerand en vir dood agtergelaat is.

Komm. Silvanus Nghishidimbwa, polisiebevelvoerder van die Khomasstreek, het die voorval gister bevestig.

Volgens hom het omstanders Dinsdag die swaar gewonde man agter die Sam Nujoma-stadion in Katutura aangetref.

Nghishidimbwa sê die vermoede is dat die man met 'n stomp voorwerp aangeval is.

Hoewel 'n vlugtelingkaart in sy besit gevind is, moet daar nog vasgestel word of dit sy kaart was.

Luidens dié dokument is die kaarthouer afkomstig van die Demokratiese Republiek die Kongo (DRK).

Teen gistermiddag kon die polisie nog geen naasbestaandes van die man opspoor nie.

Intussen sal 'n nadoodse ondersoek gedoen word om die presiese oorsaak van die man se dood te probeer bepaal, het Nghishidimbwa gesê.

Daar is ook nog geen verdagtes aangekeer nie en die polisieondersoek duur voort, het hy bygevoeg.
