\nCREATE your own unique silver accessories by attending a workshop in the making of art clay jewellery. Art clay silver is a product that offers users a quick, simple and inexpensive method making 99,9 percent pure silver jewellery, accessories and art objects.
\nArt Clay is made from recycled silver in a powder form which is mixed with an organic binder and water to form clay that can be moulded and shaped much like polymer clay. Before being fired, an item made in Art Clay can be carved, engraved, sanded, drilled and have stones inserted. As soon as the item is fired, the binder burns away and the silver particles bond together during the sintering process, leaving behind a fine silver object with the strength of 19-carat gold.
\nIn the six hour workshop participants are taught to shape the silver clay, more about the various drying methods and also further shaping of the leather-hard items. After this you will be shown how to fire your pieces and to polish it. At the end of the workshop you will go home with three of your own handmade silver pieces i.e. pendant, ring and earrings.
\nThe cost for the workshop is N$500 for tuition and an additional N$550 for material. (The price for material can vary according to how much you use.) The workshop takes place on Saturday 19 November from 09:30 to 15:30.\n
