Magic dominance

Gure will leave no stone unturned

Magic went into the second leg semi-final having already beaten V-Power 3-0 in the first leg. On aggregate they collected 11-0 against the Angels.

They will face Galz & Goalz at the NFA technical field in a match not to be missed.

Galz and Goalz booked their place in the final having won on a 1-0 aggregate, thanks to their first-leg win.

Magic's coach Shama Gure expressed satisfaction with the result, saying the performance was outstanding and well executed from the girls.

Stepping up

“They played well to instruction and in addition they gave everything.

“However, there were a few messy ends that didn't work as we had hoped it would, but we are looking to step up the performance, not only for those behind the team, but simply because we owe it to ourselves to fight harder than we did for this cup so far.

“We are looking forward to working harder than we did ahead last the semi-finals,” said Gure.

He added that playing in the final won't be a walk in the park and that they don't intend to take anything for granted going into the encounter.

“Football remains a game of many moments and whoever makes use of those moments stands a better chance at glory. Going into the finals we expect to shift a gear up. No room for error and we are not taking any prisoners at all,” he daie.

We fear no one

On the other side, Gals & Goalz player coach Mammie Kasaona was also happy with her side's performance against the former champions.

“We were expecting them to come with a great game plan and approach. The tempo was very high and I applaud my girls for matching their tactical approach.

“A big thank you to my technical team. Overall, it was a good display from both teams. Magic is a big team and they have been here before. My girls did well by beating the defending champions. All I can say at this moment is that one needs to beat the champion to become a champion,” she said.

She thanked the media, Namibia Football Association and sponsors Skorpion Zinc.

“Thank you for making sure that the girl child continues to play this beautiful game despite the challenges,” Kasaona said.
