GIPF opens Outapi office
The Government Institutions Pension Fund of Namibia recently opened its Outapi branch located in the Omusatio region.
GIPF board of trustees chairperson Goms Menetté welcomed the opening of the new branch and said it would help serve many GIPF members in Namibia's most second populated region.
“When you compare the Omusati region with other regions in our country, it stands out as the second highest populated region after Khomas.
Hence a Fund of our size and stature will fail in its mandate if it cannot provide service to our members who are part of the growing population of the Omusati Region,” said Menetté.
Another motivation to open the new branch stemmed from the vibrancy of Outapi which also serves as the Omusati region's administrative capital Menetté said.
Better service
“The first step is the opening of our office in the vibrant and bustling town of Outapi which is the capital and economic centre of this region. I can sleep a little better knowing that our members no longer need to be subjected to the long trips to get service at the nearest GIPF office in Oshakati which has been catering to our members from the Oshana, Omusati, Kunene and Ohangwena regions,” said Menetté.
Another motivation was the desire to better serve the members of the GIPF by brining convenience closer to their doorsteps he added.
“If we are to build lasting confidence in our members and stakeholders, we need to address the challenges they face such as having access to services at their convenience and in the areas they reside.
Our goal is therefore geared towards understanding the priorities and needs of our members,” he said.
According to Menetté, the new Outapi office is fully equipped to offer the following services which include pension enquiries, pension advice, biometric registration and verification, benefit and Income statements; and submission of supporting documents.
