Pres. Hage Geingob en sy Chinese ampsgenoot, pres. Xi Jinping, het vandag (Sondag) in Beijing vergader op die vooraand van die beraad van die Forum vir Samewerking tussen China en Afrika (Focac) wat môre in dié stad begin.
Geingob het daarop gewys dat hy verheug is oor die vordering in die bilaterale betrekkinge tussen Namibië en China sedert dit in Maart vanjaar tot die Omvattende Strategiese Vennootskap vir Samewerking verhef is.
Een van die voordele is die opgraderingsprojek by die Hosea Kutako Internasionale Lughawe, het Geingob gesê, asook die parafering van die bilaterale lugdiensooreenkoms wat "reuseprotensiaal vir toerisme in Namibië inhou".
Verder is 'n memorandum onderteken vir samewerking in China se syroete ekonomiese gordel- en 21ste eeuse maritieme syroete-inisiatief.
Geingob het na die wen-wen-samewerking en geleenthede vanwys van dié inisiatief waarmee China lande langs die antieke syroete met 'n netwerk van lande in onder meer Afrika wil verbind.
Volgens Geingob skep dit geleenthede in infrastruktuurverbinding, beleggings, marktoegang en handel.
