Die prys van petrol en diesel styg net ná middernag met 25 sent per liter.
Dié aankondiging is pas deur die minister van myne en energie, mnr. Tom Alweendo gemaak.
Die rede daarvoor is dat die heffing vir die Nasionale Energiefonds (NEF) waaruit onderverhalings gefinansier word, van 40 sent per liter tot 65 sent per liter styg.
Alweendo sê ofskoon die onderverhaling in Julie 'n styging in die brandstofprys regverdig, gaan die NEF dit vir die tweede maand agtereenvolgens namens die verbruiker absorbeer. Die onderverhaling het op 25 Julie sowat 69,7 sent per liter op petrol beloop, en sowat 59,5 sent per liter gemiddeld op beide grade diesel.
Petrol sal dus vanaf môre (1 Augustus) N$12,55 per liter by die pomp op Walvisbaai kos, en diesel sal N$12,88 (500ppm) en N$12,93 (50ppm) per liter kos.
