DTA registers more than 1 000 new members at WHK Show
WINDHOEK – The Democratic Turnhalle Alliance (DTA) has registered more than 1 000 new members at the Windhoek Agricultural and Industrial Show underway in the capital.
The party has a stall at the annual show for the first time.
In an interview with Nampa at their stall on Sunday, a member of the DTA's Youth League, Kavetutjimue Rukira, said the party is participating in the Windhoek Show in order to campaign for the upcoming Presidential and National elections and register more members for the party.
The forthcoming Presidential and National Assembly elections are set for 27 and 28 November this year.
“We have realised that the show attracts more people and it is the right place to reach them.
“We are mostly targeting the born-frees to encourage them to register and vote for their future leaders,” he told this agency.
Rukira noted that they are also distributing the party's election manifesto, which was launched in Opuwo earlier this month.
“We want our manifesto to reach as many people as possible, so that people will make the right choices when they vote,” he noted.
The party’s manifesto is a six-page booklet titled “Let us stop the rot. Vote DTA of Namibia, because you deserve better”.
The show ends on Saturday.
