Die ministerie van die omgewing, bosbou en toerisme het aankondig dat alle nasionale parke tydens die inperkingstyd weens die Covid-19-pandemie toe sal wees.

“Geen toere sal in nasionale parke plaasvind nie en slegs akkommodasiegeriewe wat gestrande besoekers het, sal oop bly. Gaste sal egter by die akkommodasiegeriewe moet bly en mag nie rondbeweeg nie,” het die woordvoerder van die ministerie, mnr. Romeo Muyunda in ‘n mediaverkaring gesê.

“Teenstropery-aktiwiteite sal ongehinderd voortduur.”

Die ministerie maan dat wetstoepassers op hul pos sal wees om enige onwettige optrede in nasionale parke vas te vat.

Die ministerie sal hierdie hoktyk gebruik om infrastruktuur in parke soos paaie, heinings, ablusiegeriewe en watergate in stand te hou en op te gradeer.

Muyunda sê alle aansoeke vir omgewingsklaringsertifikate, permitte en lisensies sal tydens die inperkingstydperk opgeskort word.

Dieselfde geld vir plaasinspeksies.
