Orlando Pirates sign strategic partnership with FNB Namibia

First National Bank recently announced the signing of Orlando Pirates, making it the 6th Namibia Premier League [NPL] Club to share in FNB’s exciting club sponsorship initiative of N$217,000.

The signing of the 5-year agreement between FNB and the club makes FNB the exclusive and official sponsor of Orlando Pirates. FNB is excited about the strides it is making through the FNB Football Club Sponsorship Initiative in helping the Namibia Football Authorities to elevate the standard of domestic football to greater heights.

In addition FNB believes that through this local football sponsorship towards Orlando Pirates Football Club, players will give their best on and off the field. Through this sponsorship Orlando Pirates becoms an excellent strategic partner for FNB’s social corporate investment, especially football sponsorship in the Khomas region.

As a result of this sponsorship, Orlando Pirates and its fans will build the strong and reputable FNB brand even further in that area.

“It is our stated objective to contribute to the development of Namibian sport across a wide range of activities, inclusive of capacity building, improved sport management, sustainability of clubs, the building of their brands, etc. The fact that all FNB supported clubs have undergone management training and now have business plans, is proof of success,” Adv Vekuii Rukoro, CEO of FNB Holdings, said. He added that creating an improved environment for stakeholders is another core focus of FNB’s support.

Rukoro said in future more players from FNB sponsored clubs will qualify for national teams. This aspiration compliments FNB’s developmental focus in all sport codes.
