12.03.2010 HTS hands out prizes to top academic achievers with the help of FNB Namibia

The Windhoek Technical High School recently held a prize-giving in which top academic performers in a variety of categories were awarded for their hard work during the past year.
Leslie Puriza, Manager: Public Sector Banking within the Corporate and Commercial Banking division of FNB Namibia said: “We are delighted that we are able to support our clients with such an important event not only because they are valued clients of ours, but also - and more importantly - because we realize the significance of a good education and the value of acknowledging such great achievements, especially with children in their formative years.”
The FNB Foundation has a number of main areas of support of which education is one and in line with the vision of creating a better world, First National Bank of Namibia views its role within the country as going beyond that of the business environment only. A big focus is on adopting initiatives that will make Namibia a better place for all. This is achievable when focusing on educational initiatives as these will equip youngster with the necessary tools to positively contribute towards the economic development of the country.
Mr Conny Christoph, Principal of the school said: “We wish to thank FNB for their generous sponsorship towards our Academic Prize-Giving that took place on 29 February 2010. It is highly appreciated and the learners who received money vouchers at this event will open bank accounts at FNB Namibia.”
A secial prize were also awarded to Annelize Malan who was third in the Khomas region and 15th overall in Namibia for the JSE, grade 10 examination, last year.
Daleen Dahms received a Prestige scroll for looking after the First Aid at the school sport events for 5 years while Heinrich Laue walked away with a Prestige scroll for achieving an average of 91.6% from grade 8 - 11.
