Face up to the realities

Axaro from Keetmanshoop writes:

SOME “leaders” from our ruling party must stop insulting our intelligence.

When opposition talks about housing for the needy, increments for pensioners, they don’t try to score cheap political points but that’s the reality facing our people throughout the country.

There are members of Parliament who agree with the other side of the House but are afraid to do so openly knowing they will be rebuked. I

n Swapo you can think what you want, but not say what you want; freedom of speech and association is sometimes limited.

If the electorate would have the privilege to appoint their own leaders, some of them glowing with fat would find themselves outside the House.

Some who have top positions in Government and parastatals are not there on merit but because of family ties, being handpicked, favouritism, nepotism, shortcuts and most of all through power credentials. So stop your hogwash and start to deliver on election promises.

Year in and out we have to endure listening to speeches of enemies of hunger, diseases, poverty and ignorance. The founding President has long ago identified these enemies but is doing sweet nothing to eliminate these common enemies, that’s what I would rather say is trying to score cheap political points, not to mention self goals.

Looking back on twenty years of political religion it spells out mushrooming of squatter camps with party flags on kaias, shebeens for development with their one track minded music or rather noise pollution, while the “honourables” and their families are having a peaceful sleep in their mansions far away from squatter camps and a troubled life.

Can one’s own Government repress its own people this way?

Jeepers creepers, what comrade bunch!
