WINDHOEK. – A Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) member promised the nation that if the party is voted into power in the next National and Presidential elections, it will increase the salaries of Namibian police officers.
Rudolf Kamburona, who is number nine on the list of 72 that make up the RDP's National Assembly candidates, said his party will also make sure that all police cars are provided with airconditioning.
Kamburona was speaking at the party’s rally that took place in the Greenwell Matongo residential area in Katutura on Sunday afternoon.
He also promised that the government, under his party, will convert the Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs into a department, and rather create a new Ministry of Poverty Eradication.
“We will build 30 000 houses in one year, instead of building toilets alongside national roads,” he said to thunderous applause.
“We are ready to govern this country even tomorrow. We already have our intelligence service in place, and we will never import Cuban doctors,” he stated.
A handful of people attended the rally.
