Nambinga slams research

Jeremia Nambinga (RDP) writes:

“THE RDP is totally dismayed to read an article written by the staff reporter of the New Era of the 30th September 2009, claiming that the Institute of Public Policy Research, IPPR, had conducted an inhouse exercise/research which predicts that the Rally for Democracy and Progress will only garner six seats, representing a mere 8% in the forthcoming November Presidential and National Assembly elections.

“While scientific and academic research is appreciated, RDP strongly feels that the IPPR’s so-called in-house research is biased, methodically wrong and contextually unbecoming and borders on misleading and misinforming the Namibian public.

“It is high time for the IPPR to draw a line between being a political mercenary for political parties or remain an Institute for Public Policy Research.

“A question can be asked on what scientific basis/ground the IPPR arrived at its misleading six seats for the RDP.

“We are confident of our performances based on our membership database which is far beyond the false predictions of those researchers.

“They must know that their predictions are nothing but an attempt to undermine the intelligence of the Namibian people. In fact, through their so-called in-house research, the IPPR has lowered its academic profile in the eyes of many Namibians. Our people are fully conscious of the changing political character in the country.

“To assist the researchers to have a correct view of RDP’s performance in the country, we call upon the NBC to beam/ broadcast the RDP rallies at Ohangwena, Rundu and the recent Oshakati rally.”
