Mupetami wants Swapo to rule forever

OMATANDO - Oshana regional councillor for the Okatyali constituency, Joseph Mupetami, said the Swapo party will never allow Namibia to be ruled by any other political party.

Mupetami said this whilst addressing a Swapo electioneering meeting at Omatando village of the Okatana constituency in the Oshana region on Friday.

According to him, Swapo is the only political party in Namibia that is associated with the liberation struggle of the country.

“Because of its participation in the liberation struggle of this country, as the then liberation movement, Swapo is the only political party that deserves to govern this country,” Mupetami charged.

Mupetami also welcomed two former members of the Congress of Democrats (CoD), namely Kross Ekandjo (35) and Timoteus Uushona (35) who joined the Swapo party at the meeting.

He described other political parties in Namibia as political projects for the benefits of certain individuals.

“They have no capacity to compete with the Swapo party, therefore it is better for those who have been misled by these political projects to rejoin Swapo, the party which has the visionto develop this country he told his audience.

At the same meeting, Mupetami reiterated that he will continue to warn the Namibian nation about other political parties' intention to sow seeds of division among the Namibian people.

“We, as the Swapo party councillors, will not stop alerting our people about the seeds of division the new political projects are trying to sow in our respective constituencies. They tried us at Okatyali, but we showed them the door, they will never succeed,” he emphasized.

A number of Swapo members, supporters and sympathizers from Omatando village and its neighbouring villages attended the meeting.

Namibia is scheduled to hold Presidential and National Assembly elections from 27 to 28 November this year.
