Manifesto contains Swapo’s future

SANGWALI - The Namibian Head of State has encouraged every Namibian to read and understand the SWAPO Party 2009 election manifesto for themselves, so that they can know about the party’s intention for the next five years.

The SWAPO election manifesto will also be available in some local languages, such as Silozi and Rukwangali, amongst others.

In his address at a SWAPO star rally at Sangwali village in the Linyanti constituency of the Caprivi region on Thursday, the Namibian President told thousands of SWAPO supporters and members that the party has put in place a monitoring and evaluating mechanism to regularly track the pace and effectiveness of the implementation of its 2009 election manifesto.

He assured the gathering that the SWAPO led government will leave no stone unturned in the implementation of its 2009 election manifesto, if given another mandate to govern the country for the next five years.

He maintained that the SWAPO government will make the necessary budgetary allocations to bring development to its people so that they can realize their dreams.

The manifesto reflects the party’s commitment to serve the Namibian people, and will work to improve on the track record it has established thus far, he continued.

“We will equally promote investment in strategic national development projects to make Namibia more competitive regionally and globally. We will continue with the implementation of our short, medium and long-term development plans to achieve the goals and objectives of our Vision 2030,” he stressed.

The Namibian leader stated that SWAPO will put forward committed candidates, whom he said will articulate the needs of the people, and work hard to find effective and durable solutions to challenges facing the citizens.

He then urged all citizens to secure their future by voting for SWAPO during the upcoming Presidential and National Assembly elections slated for next month from 27 to 28 November.
