Hamutenya described as an ‘academic’

WINDHOEK – Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) secretary for information and mobilisation Jeremia Nambinga described his party’s president Hidipo Hamutenya as an ‘academic’, who will take any decision by himself instead of waiting to consult.

He charged that current Namibian President Hifikepunye Pohamba always consults before he takes decisions.

“Hamutenya will take a decision himself and he will not wait to consult because he is not a robot,” said Nambinga at the party’s rally at Greenwell Matongo suburb on Sunday.

In addition, Nambinga charged that when President Pohamba took over power five years ago, he promised the nation to fight corruption.

Pohamba did not keep this promise, he said. “Pohamba will leave office without addressing corruption. He will never, never, never address corruption,” Nambinga indicated.

“You can arrest me and take me to prison, but I repeat it, Poham¬ba will never address corruption. Only, I am a disciplined cadre, otherwise I could talk many things about him,” he continued.

He then urged the masses to vote for the RDP for change, stating that his party will bring about change that will reflect the aspirations of the people.

“We are fearing that if RDP did not make it in the upcoming elections, Namibia will sink into the ocean,” he stated further.

He said SWAPO is like a “blind goat in the street”.

“If there is anything that SWAPO brought in this country, it’s misery, destitution, poverty and corruption,” he charged.
