Former Swapo-Party councillor joins APP

RUNDU, 05 OCT (NAMPA) - Former Swapo-Party councillor for the Mashare constituency in the Kavango region, Paulus Shikongo Kaburu, has joined the All Peoples’ Party (APP).

APP president Ignatius Shixwameni received Kaburu, who was the founding Swapo councillor of the Mashare constituency from 1992-2004, at the party’s electoral college held at Rundu on Saturday.

Receiving the former Swapo party councillor, Shixuameni extended an invitation to those who are still in the ruling Swapo-Party and those who are undecided, to join the APP.

“The APP is the only political party that is interested in ensuring that Namibia becomes a country in which all citizens, irrespective of their political affiliation, race or cultural background, live in prosperity,” said Shixwameni.

He said he does not doubt that come the Presidential and National Assembly elections on 27 and 28 November 2009, 90 per cent of the votes in the Kavango region will go towards the APP.

Shixwameni thus called on APP members and supporters to mobilize the masses in the region to support and vote for the APP.
