CoD suffers resignation in Kavango

RUNDU, 14 OCT (NAMPA) - Opposition party Congress of Democrats (CoD) has suffered another blow after the resignation of Mathias Munango, who is number 35 on the list of its candidates for the National Assembly elections.

Munange, who was the CoD candidate for the Rundu Rural West constituency’s by-election held early last year, resigned as a member of that party last Friday to join the All People's Party (APP).

APP National Chairman Herbert Shihwameni confirmed to Nampa on Wednesday that Munango and his group of followers, whom he refused to disclose, will be officially welcomed to the APP family at his home village of Mulemba in the Kahenge constituency next week by the party's secretary-general Marcellus Mudumbi and other APP leaders.

Munango's resignation follows that of former CoD co-ordinator in the region, John Kushonya, who left the party late last month.

Meanwhile, the APP is scheduled to hold their first rally at Rehoboth in the Hardap region on 18 October.
