APP selects candidates

Ignatius Nkotongo Shixwameni, President of the All People’s Party (APP) writes:
 
HAVING successfully concluded our electoral college and compiling the 2009 elections parliamentary list in Rundu on Saturday, 3rd October 2009, we are pleased to inform the nation through your esteemed media agency the 72 members whom we believe will earnestly represent the wishes and aspirations of the Namibian nation. The meeting was conducted in a spirit of camaraderie, unity, mutual respect and understanding with the entire group of members showing maturity in the conduct of the elections.

The convention elected 72 members out of 135 candidates who were proposed by constituencies and regions and democratically elected by members of the Central Coordinating Committee.

The 72 constituting the parliamentary list are ranked in accordance with the votes received during the election.

The APP leadership was also mandated to deploy people on the list to attend to party duties during the election campaign throughout the country.
