Tourism centre at Rehoboth officially opened

A tourism information centre was officially inaugurated at the town of Rehoboth on Friday.

The European Union, through the Rural Poverty Reduction Programme made funds available via the National Planning Commission for the establishment of the Rehoboth tourism centre.

The project aims to alleviating poverty through community based tourism and Community Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) in the Hardap and Karas Regions. It were implemented by the Namibia Development Trust.

Mr Edwin van Wyk, chief control officer in the Hardap Regional Council explains what the project entails.
