20.01.2012 Castrol Day of Champions ever popular
 Peter Labuschagne, former SA Champion, will ride the 1970 revolutionary Wagon Wheels G50 Matchless at the Castrol Day of Champions next week. The motorbike featured magnesium wheels and disc brakes which the world laughed at then, but not today.
THE Castrol-sponsored Day of the Champions, which is part of the classic motor racing extravaganza at Zwartkops Raceway, continues to grow in popularity. The number of motorcycles that will be in action on Sunday, 29 January, could total as many as 250.
Castrol has been involved with motorcycle racing virtually since its inception more than 100 years ago and continues to sponsor teams in both MotoGP and World Superbikes.
Many overseas riders, mainly from the United Kingdom, are taking the opportunity of spending time in sunny South Africa for the classic racing series. – Words and image: www.quickpic.co.za
