New Discovery Channel launched

Since the beginning of the month, Discovery Channel is available in the general entertainment section of the DStv channel line up while the Discovery portfolio has expanded with the launch of Discovery World.

Discovery Channel’s position will ensure that it remains top of mind for viewers and places it at the forefront of DStv’s general entertainment viewing options, with brand-defining series such as Ultimate Survival, American Chopper, Deadliest Catch and American Loggers taking centre stage.

The move allows Discovery to strengthen its position as the leader in factual content with the launch of the premium brand, Discovery World. Designed for viewers with a keen interest in the world they live in, Discovery World delivers detailed and factual-rich content that unlocks the most inspiring, intriguing and unattainable parts of our world.

Its programming is centred on high-end documentaries and immersive series, including Solving Olly Steeds, Man on Earth, Treasure Quest, Danger Hunters and President’s Sundays. Discovery World replaces Discovery Channel on DStv channel 250, and viewers can find it on the documentary section of the bouquet.
