Hochland nest - Where Eagles Soar

Looking for a romantic breakaway for your valentine? Nestled in the majestic Khomas Hochland Mountains, on the banks of the Freidenau Dam, is the ideal romantic breakaway from the city – Hochland Nest. This eco-friendly lodge with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains offers visitors a unique experience. The lodge is cozy and intimate with friendly staff providing attention to each and every guest.

Hochland Nest is situated in a 2 000 hectare area where mountain zebra, kudu, oryx, red wildebeest, warthogs and other species roam freely. Built with wood, slate and reeds from the surrounding area, the lodge can accommodate up to 12 guests in six en-suite chalets. All units have a secluded outdoor wooden deck and the generous spacing between chalets, ensures complete privacy. The thatched dining and lounge area opens onto a spacious wooden deck with panoramic views of the bush and the dam.

Two hour nature drives are offered in open 4x4 game drive vehicles, and there are two marked walking trails, one is a six-kilometer climb in the hills, the other is just two kilometers, meandering down to the small dam near the lodge. Bird watching is spectacular, with over 100 different species, from Fish Eagles to Yellow-billed Hornbills.

Relax at the pool and sip on a cocktail in the pool lounge overlooking a private dam, try your hand at bass fishing or enjoy a sunset boat cruise. Hochland Nest also caters for functions of up to 30 people.
